Media Manager 2.4

I had to do a reformat of my entire C drive requiring that I also reinstall Vegas 9.0c. Now, I can't get Media Manager 2.4 installed. I've tried nearly everything that I know of. Something is getting hung up with two files in the SQL install - the MSXML6 and the SQL Server Database Services. Both files fail at setup and install causing Media Manager to not install. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I'm running Win XP with SP3 and thought that might be the problem. Don't think so now. I've followed some links to uninstalling and reinstalling SQL. Nada. HELP, if possible. THANKS

I've not come across the MSXML6 problem with Media Manager myself, but I have run into what I believe is the same thing with a completely different program (also based on SQL Server 2005 Express) that I support as part of my day job. If I'm right about the cause being the same then the solution to your problem should be the same as the solution that works for "my" software.

The solution is given here. Ignore the references to Noah (the name of "my" software - it's a program widely used in the Hearing Aid Industry) and just follow steps 2 and 3 given under Solution. Then try the install of Media Manager again.

If I'm right you will find that you no longer get the MSXML6 error, and if you're lucky perhaps you won't get the SQL Server Database Services error either, and the Media Manager instalation will complete correctly.

Best of luck.

Thank you for your thoughts. It turns out that there was an issue with going to Service Pack 3 and then getting into some more problems that I just don't want to rehash here. In brief, everything really turned crazy on my system the more I tried fixing things. In the end, I had to do a complete reformat of my hard drive (a real pain). I've left my system running with Service Pack 2. I've now got Media Manager 2.4 running normal on my version 9.0c and it's running okay for now. Service Pack 3 makes me nervous with Vegas. Maybe its fine with other stuff but I don't think it works well with Vegas. Honestly, I don't. I think there are issues. But, please see my latest post with new problems involving my video timeline going blank as a pointer to the actual footage. I'm getting some really weird anomalies.

Again, thanks for responding.
