Since there have been no responses, I'll offer something from my Sound Forge experience with LPs.

In my experience, anything left by that plugin will require a manual fix. It's time consuming, but time is free, right? I'm not sure how to access it in Vegas, but in SF9 it's in tools, find, glitches. Then use the edit tool to smooth the waveform. After a while you get a good feel for what it a real click or pop and what is supposed to be there from the record.

Thanks for the reply. I decided to just do the best I could with the included software to get the project finished and move on.

Mark,

There are at least two plugins that work quite well getting rid of clicks, pops, broadband noise, etc. I use SoundSoap Pro and iZotope RX (not the Pro version).

They both cost money but I have had them both so long that I don't remember how much I paid for them. They are not considered inexpensive, so if you don't plan on putting either of them to a lot of work or get paid for what you do, you may not want to make the investment.

In some quick (not high-end) work I did with the Sony plugin, I discovered that two light passes worked better than trying to do it all in one pass.

YMMV
