Subject:how to play only 1 channel?

I'm pretty sure under previous versions of SF, I could just click the cursor in the lower section of the channel and only that channel would play. I could then move the cursor around normally and have playback of only that channel as the cursor moved.

Can anything like that be done in SF 10a?

I see that I can select some/all of just one channel and get only that channel's playback, but if I move the cursor, the selection is cancelled. That's not what I want.

thanks.

The little lock icon in the upper left of the data window locks the channel selection with respect to caret drops in the data area. The default keyboard shortcut is the grave accent ( ` ). It's just left of the 1 key in the upper left corner of most keyboards.

LButton, Shift+LButton, and Ctrl+LButton in the channel header area on the left allow you to select subsets of one or more channels. Tab and Shift+Tab cycle channel selection. These operations are not affected by the channel-selection lock.

Drag-select and Shift+LButton select operations still honor cursor position with respect to channel selection. The caret itself and caret drops were decoupled from channel selection when multi-channel support was added in Forge 9.0. The channel-selection lock was added at this time, as well.
