Subject:Suddenly no signal after I stop and place a marker

The subject pretty much totally describes my problem.

I'm using 7.0 and have been for months. I'm chopping up a foreign language file for import into another application, and have been doing so for months.

Suddenly today, SPORADICALLY if I hit "Enter" and place a marker, suddenly there is no signal and no volume. I can rewind and the file plays. But if I hit ENTER and place a marker again, no signal.

Weird thing. Anybody have any ideas?

I still could use some advice, but...

It looks like it is just this one mp3 file I'm having trouble with--so maybe there's some corruption in the file.

Everything works fine on other files.

Anyone ever run across this?

Could be an audio buffer problem, which drivers are you using in Sound Forge?
Generally speaking, ASIO drivers demonstrate the fewest memory problems.
