OT: Bias Sound Soap/Sony NR2

Bias has a special running now where I can upgrade to the pro version from my limited version pretty cheap. The limited version is, well, pretty limited.

Anyone using Sound Soap, and if so, how does it compare to the Sony NR2 and the other noise reducing tools in Vegas and Sound Forge from your experience?

TIA

Tom

I have Sound Soap 2, Sony Noise Reduction 2, and iZotope RX. Sound Soap 2 and Sony NR2 are about on par with NR2 having more "tweakability" but iZotope RX is so amazing that it's in a class all by itself. If you can afford RX... get it.

I've never used Sound Soap Pro but just looking at their web site, it doesn't have all the capabilities of iZotope RX. You should download the trial of RX and see for yourself. It's money well spent.

I second Izotope RX. I had the lite version of soundsoap, which is good for the price. But RX is in a class by itself. I am just now learning its full capabilities. Someone else said it was like voodoo or magic. I agree. Its just a fun program to use too.

Thanks for the comments. I appreciate the input. I've heard that RX does wonders. BIAS is pushing SS, as a new version is coming out that looks pretty interesting, and you get a free upgrade.

I third it.

I used Sony NR2 for few years and it's OK. Once you use Izotope RX, though, there's no going back. It is amazing.
