Capture Problems

I've shot some continuous shots of a friend's band using my Sony HV1U and now am trying to capture the footage. Typically this hasn't been a problem a problem, but for some reason V9 is creating new clips once the clip size gets to around 400MB. The problem is, the next clip it captures is missing several seconds...but it's all there on the tape.

Any ideas/suggestions?

There's been a random clip splitting thing going on in Vegas HDV capture for a while.

First make sure that Scene Detection is disabled in capture settings. This won't necessarily stop it happening, though.

I believe that some use another program for capture - called HDV Split or something like that, I think.

The other solution is to recapture for a few seconds from just before each break and bridge the gap with the short clip.

Coincidentally I'm just capturing 8 hours of supplied HDV footage of the local Aboriginal Music Awards, for a multi cam edit. Several times there were unwanted clip splits, along with gaps. Can't work out why, but recapturing from just before to just after .... fixed it.

Thanks Peter.

sounds like a cool project you're working on. My wife is from Sydney Australia, and I've been back there with her a couple times now. Very cool culture/place!
