FCP encoded video won't play in vegas... help!

I have 3 weeks worth of training videos to edit that were captured via XDCAM directly through FCP. The problem is that I am working in a Vegas suite, and when I import the video, I get a blank screen but the audio works perfectly. Strangely enough, when I play the video in VLC media player, I get only video, no audio... From my research, it seems that the problem is that FCP puts a special encoding into its .mov files when captured directly through the program. My question is, does anyone know how to fix this so both the video and audio are editable in Vegas, but without losing the HD quality?
thanks

Have you installed the latest quicktime? If not, do that first, and then report back.

Yes, I have the latest Quicktime player, but not Quicktime pro...

Thanks, PerroneFord, I see your advice to the previous person and will attempt to apply it to my problem.

Its the propietary damm FCP codec.

Convert the FCP mov with VLC and voilá! Works fine and free!!

Are you in need of Apple ProRes 422 codec?
If so Apple have released it for Windows as a free download.

You can download it here http://support.apple.com/downloads/Apple_ProRes_QuickTime_Decoder_1_0_for_Windows Apple ProRes 422 for Windows[/link]

Installing the latest version of quicktime installs the ProRes codec by default. You don't need to do it separately.
