Make sure the "Include Audio" box is checked in the Audio tab via the "Custom" menu.

thanks for the reply, when i try that that option is unavailable, its greyed out, why woud that be?

Which codec are you Rendering... some are 'video only' streams that don't offer audio inclusion.

The MainConcept MPEG presets are generally video only for instance.

My project properties are: HD 1080-50i (1920x1080, 25 fps) as my footage is AVCHD 1920x1080.

I have been using the corresponding Bluray 1920x1080-50i 16 Mbps video stream codec. If I try and use the AVCHD 1920x1080-50i codec which does allow me to include the sound it calculates the time to burn a 40s project as over 10 hrs!! (so never used that one).

Am I best to render a separate audio file?? If so what would be the best setting. I am trying a simple stereo output to start with.
