Subject: ...And Now My Projects Won't Render?

Any clues?
My projects won't render to either mp3 or wav. The approx time left thing just keeps going up and up and up but the rendering stays at 0 per cent. Then eventually, my computer crashes.
Done this several times.

Today is just not my day :(

Sounds like your install of ACID Pro 7 may have gone kablooey. Have you tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling ACID? (Make sure to install again using only the update; it acts as a full install provided you have your serial key handy.)

I done that before, however, the problems have started happening since I updated to 7b. Ill try uninstalling and reinstalling using 7b.

Are you using NI's B4 or Pro53 in any of the projects? Acid 6 the rare time I've tried to use it as a daw (prefer Sonar 8) has barfed when using either of these synths. I get a sense things will go south when Acid scans vst's and dxi's on start-up and an error message pops up saying there's an error in those 2 plugs.
Also, if I try and use either as an effect in SF9 that will barf as well.

I think I know what this is and why it's related to 7.0b. Look at your mixer. Specifically look at where every bus a routed. I think you'll see that they have all been incorrectly rerouted to the audio interface directly and not to the Master bus. This also applies to softsynth buses. You might need to also look at the tracks.

I have found that almost all of my projects in 7.0b come up with the busses all incorrectly assigned. This caused the same rendering issues and crash for me that they did for you.

Simply re-assign everything to the original buses or master bus as you had before (unfortunately, from memory) and you'll be right as rain.

I have never had a issues with these two synth in Acid 6 or 7
In almost every session I use them in I do automation and patch changes.

I noticed what Darrena said. Suddenly all my projects rendered as empty wav files. There was clearly a change in 7.0b which altered the bus routing. Took me some time to realize that was the problem. It's all fine now, but it was a bit of a shocker. I hope Sony puts out some kind of general notice on the Software updates page, to save others the hour or so of panic that I went through.

Thanks for your rpelies. Im not using any Native Instrument sysnths at all.
And all the buses are routed everywhere correctly.

OMG Darrena, you are a genious!!! All of my tracks were correctly routed, so i incorrectly routed them, and then re-correctly routed them, this works. My projects are rendering.
Man kiss? No, okay, thanks anyways haha!

The routing problem is a bug. We are working to get out an update with a fix.

The bug is in the loading of projects created with any version of ACID less than 7.0b.

Projects created with 7.0b do not exhibit this problem.

You may want to consider rolling back to ACID 7.0a until we get the update out. If not, then you should make sure that you check your sub bus routing when you load a project.

"You may want to consider rolling back to ACID 7.0a"

How does one do this?

Thanks.

I think you have to uninstall ACID, and then reinstall using the 7a installer.

Grumble, I hope the fix comes soon.

This problem was fixed in the 7.0c update.

i downloaded the new 7.0c update, then uninstalled my current version, then installed the new update....and it still won't render out.

I am going to try going back to 7.0a and see if that fixes it.

I tried all the bus reassigning and even that didn't help, so I hope going back to the 7.0a version fixes it. I have projects to finish ASAP and time is running out.

OK, I can't find the 7.0a update anywhere. All that shows up is the new 7.0c update...grrrrr...not fun....I need to get these projects going right now...

OK, I got the render issue fixed...I uninstalled the current ACID pro 7.0c version, then reinstalled 7.0 from my original software disc.

NOTE: if you do this, IGNORE all windows popping up telling you to install the new version update!
