which file format do I use

I wish to render a 1440 x 576 pixel film using 5.1 surround sound. Which file format do I use to keep the surround sound? I'm using Vegas Pro 9.

Once you have successfully opened your file in a Vegas 5.1 project, you can render the audio as AAC / AC-3 5.1 Surround, alone or in an AVC/AAC video format.
