I ma using Sony Vegas 6.0 for a long time now. Sorry no money to upgrade. A wierd problem has come up. The video capture seems okay but the there are hundreds of dropped frames and the the audio is completely distorted.
Need more information. Does the tape you've recorded have the dropouts or is it only the capture?
I'd suggest cleaning the heads on the camera (or deck) you are replaying/capturing from.
If it's only the capture try defragging your hard drive as it may be a disk fragmentation problem.
Make sure you don't have other software running and that your project is set to the correct vide annd audio settings for the format you are editing.
Without more information about your particular problem these are just general suggestions you can try.
I can capture the footage in Windows Movie Maker without any problems so I don't think its Hard Disk related. The tape is perfect as I played it directly from the camera and the capture from Windows Movie Maker is perfect.
I think it something to do the settings as I was trying to do some PAL capture last month and have changed something I can't seem to reach. Where are all the settings that I need to check? Under Options/Preferences/Audio/Video it does not seem to be much help. Any suggestions? Can anyone be kind enough to email me their number or call me at 416 450 4107 as I am really stuck and I am severely backlogged on my editing assignments.
I am using Vegas with similar type of recordings for the past 2-3 years. The dropped frames is almost continuous like there is some settings issue. I can't seem to trace it.
The audio distortion is continuous and unaccepatable.
