Vegas 8.0c No Audio on External Preview Monitor

I'm using Vegas 8.0c and a Canopus 300 box to drive an external preview monitor. For some reason, I do not get audio on the monitor when playing back video, although I do get the audio on pass thru when capturing audio/video fed into the 300's input. I have no problems with capturing audio/video. No other firewire devices on the bus.

This is probably something really stupid I'm doing. Any suggestions?

If my memory serves correct, and it may be faulty, you don't get audio out the firewire on Video Preview just the vision.

Audio is sent separately via whatever audio card/hardware you have set up in Audio Preview hardware.

The only time you get audio out the firewire is on 'Print to Tape' functions.

Please correct me if I have this wrong as I can no longer test it as I no longer have firewire hardware attached.

Stephen, there's no need for correction as you're right.

Now, if it HAD worked? What would you have done? Come here and said: "Why is this working? It's not meant to?
