Now I've updated to Vista 64 sp2...Windows media doesn't output audio...youtube videos are silent...vlc player=no audio...quicktime player the same...quintessential media player though works. With qmp I had to go into the audio preferences and setup it to use it's generic asio driver made for it.[separate download]. Now I have audio from it.
Those are my non critical apps.
I've tested mixing with Sonar 8.3.1 with good results. SF9 with the same. Haven't tried vegas 8.1 yet. Acid I'll test who knows.
I'll try to update these apps and see if it helps.
Thx Kenny for letting us know. I have been waiting for this upgrade for a long time. Will download it today. Finally we should be able to burn Bluray disks - natively in Vista. What a huge leap for the mankind ;)

Try at your own risk.
No problems on my system -- at least as of yet. Audio is working on all applications.
Installed SP2 on Vista x64 and everything is smooth so far.
And FINALLY - MS has also fixed the the slow USB transfer problem in SP2. All my external USB hard disks performed before at 12Mbyte/s at best, now I'm back at 34Mbyte/s. Only this made the update worth the effort... But I just wonder how could they sc**w up this in the first place. Transferring data from location A to location B is a basic OS function... Goosh...
Just installed SP2 on two PC's - OK so far, only issue I noticed was that on one PC (which has two sound cards) the Windows sound mixer levels and speaker setup were changed - easily fixed once you realise what's happened....
