Is any different with mts and m2ts ??

When I edit the AVCHD "mts" file with VP,
But VP seems only can render m2ts file !!
Is any different with mts and m2ts ??
Why VP can not render mts file ??

I was told that the camera file extension is .mts and that it gets changed to .m2ts when it is captured or rendered.

Someone please correct me, for all practical purposes I think they are the same.

Yea, I don't believe there is any difference. They are both AVCHD files. Cameras usually use the MTS extensions and programs that process them use M2TS. When you burn them to Blu-ray they have the M2TS extension.
