I'll restrain myself about any comment here (that said while hesitating between knocking my head on a wall or plunging it into a pillow and scream my lungs out).

Frustrating, isn't it

I've purchased upgrades for quite some time but I'm through. No BWF export, no cash from me. WTF are they thinking?

This is from the new marketing materials located at:
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegaspro9/audioproduction

Broadcast Wave Format Support
"You can use Broadcast wave format files to exchange audio between audio editors or broadcasting platforms."

How the heck do we EXCHANGE audio files with BWF if we can't render or save a BWF?

My exact question on the Video forum as well.

The Sony advertising blurb is very ambiguous if it isn't downright misleading.

No mention of fixing the almost totally dysfunctional AAF or adding OMF either.

If you really want to exchange between other platforms or NLEs then this is crucial and the current AAF in Vegas (Pro) 8 stinks, unless you want to exchange with another Vegas user... DUH!!!

SCS how about being a little more forthcoming on what Vegas (still doubtfully Pro) 9 can do with BWF files besides import them?

When you are going to sort out AAF so it actually works with other Pro applications like Final Cut, ProTools and AVID at least for audio project exchange from a video edit?

This Vegas 9 release, combined with the continuing foundational shortcomings of Acid Pro 7 makes be seriously wonder if ANY developer of these products actually use them is a professional setting or environment. Or perhaps it would be more accurate to suggest that no one with any decision making authority actually uses Vegas or AP in a professional environment outside of the SCS lab. Weird stuff . . .

I kind of understand SCS focusing Vegas more on video, but this is a serious issue and disservice to video editors as well.
WHAT THE F___ ARE THEY THINKING! Or as it appears they are not, and losing business as well.

I see no reason to upgrade either. It's very sad for me because I've been with Vegas since version 3.
So should I go to ProTools or Reaper (pc)?

In fact, Vegas should do everything that Wave Agent does (a **freebie** btw... ) PLUS all the multitrack it already does AND compatibility with other systems (AAF,OMF).
THEN we'd be talking.
Vegas has long been on the market and now from my p.o.v. it's upsetting sometimes to see how it develops.

Instead of putting more and more cherries on the sundae, it needs to add some ice cream underneath cause it's been melting for a while now...

It's all very sad. Maybe if they put Peter IN CHARGE something good might happen ....
