There was a version before wax that I use mostly which works quite well (includes the adapter which I use a lot for vdub plugins.... the vdub cartooner especially). unfortunately you can't download this anymore.

I have used wax on occasion but try to avoid it because it is quite buggy. When I use the wax transitions for example I always get the first frame of the second clip at the very start of the transition so I have to render it twice.... once to set up the transition and once to remove the extra frame.

If you can stomach the bugs and the various work arounds you must perform to get things right then it's worth it but don't expect that it will work properly...... ever.

Bummer. I went on the Debugmode Wax Help Group and emailed Satish about the Plugin Adapter. I feel like I did something similar to this a few years ago, so we'll see what happens. I thought the Plugin Adapter was a must-have, and I'm hoping to use it in conjunction with Deshaker.

The original pluginpac can still be downloaded here:

That is amazing, I swear that link wasn't there earlier today. Plus, the ZIP file is corrupt.

I'm at work right now but if you need the previous version let me know and I can email it to you. It has the plugin adapter, 3d shatter, and a few other diddles.

I'd love if you could email that to me. I'll create a new download link / installer for the group.

Sure.
Send me an email at

ganthoni@mts.net

And later when I get home from work I'll drop it in your box.

Jonathan:
Your gmail is refusing my mail stating "mail too large"

The zip file is about 700k in size. Send me another email with another address if you have.

Jonathan... you should have mail.... give it a check.

Thanks, I got it. I'll start rebuilding a new installer while I still wait to hear back from Satish. It looks like it's working fine in Vegas too, with Deshaker!

Yup. I use vdub's cartooner and a few others as well. Although it takes a life time to render through a cartonner effect, it has more options than New Blue's cartooner. There are a few vdub plugs that don't work however so you need to experiment a little.

Have you used deshaker with the vdub filter adapter? If so, what experience did you have? Could you do the multi-pass?
