Ok
What are users using as a board for dual processors.
I currently own a pent 3 500 that I would like to have a
board that would get me 2 pent 3 500s.
Is there anything i need to know diff. about this config?
Hard drive issues?Best place to grab one on web?
Dma issues?
Any help would be kindly appreciated.Thanx alot ahead.;-)

I got a dual pro Supermicro board model P6dbe, but it wont
go past 850 mhz, board works great otherwise, but the Aopen
single pro MB I had before was even better, I would look
and see if Aopen makes a dual board....why 500? I cant even
find those anymore...wait a week or and 800s will be
around 200 bucks...ask karl too, cuz I think he got some
good dual board

Where bought?Any thing would be helpful.Thank you.

Our dual processor MB was nothing special according to most
computer gurus, even when it was new. It was inherited from
a SQL server that we took off line earlier this year and is
a Gigabyte GA-6BXD (www.giga-byte.com) which was
discontinued some months back.

Nonetheless, and after the trouble free operations of this
particular one, I would not hesitate to buy another of the
Gigabyte brand. It is running two PIII 550's at the moment.

The stability of this combination has been phenomenal
running VV and we have no plans to upgrade anytime soon
despite the advancing technology ... the box is not slow by
any means, but reliability and stability are bigger factors
in a machine that must earn its keep, IMO, and this one
fills the bill.

FWIW, here is rundown on the box:

Gigabyte GA-6BXD Motherboard (discontinued)
Dual PIII 550/256MB RAM
Maxtor 13 GB IDE UDMA for OS
Seagate 10,000 rpm ST318404LW 18 GB SCSI Drive for recording
Adaptec Ultra 160 A19160 SCSI Controller Card
Matrox G400 Dual Head 32MB (beta Win2K drivers)
Mixtreme PCI Card (2)
48X IDE CD
Matsushita(?)SCSI CDR
2GB SCSI Jaz Drive
HiVal Removable Drive Bay for Storage Drives
Win2000 Professional
Vegas Video 2.0b
WaveLab 3.01

Hope this helps.

KAC ...

Try with the Abit VP6 (PPGA), I work (Over a year) with a
Abit BP6 (The old model) and I 'm a very happy user.
