I did a search and found out how to do in Vegas Movie Studio version 9. Does anyone know how to render video to Ipod or zune on Vegas 5?

Vegas 5 probably can render in WMV. If that's the case, you can export for the Zune. I am not sure that an iPod export is possible with vegas 5, you have to check out if there's any h.264/AVC encoder in that version.
