Unlock Tracks

OK, probably a simple newbie question. When adding audio files to audio tracks in a project, it appears all of the tracks (video and audio) are associated. When dragging the audio file to the audio track, all of the video events are moved to the right of the placed audio. I have to select to the end on the video track and drag them back to the left.

How can I unlock or make each of the tracks independent so I don't have to keep making all the moves after an import?

Also...
I work using multiple audio files along the same track in a project and also cannot seem to select a single audio segment in the track and delete or move it independently of the video tracks.

I appreciate any help with this. I cannot seem to find anything in the Help files.

Turn off "rippling" - it will be one of the buttons on the toolbar.

Experiment with disabling and enabling autoripple (CTRL+L).
Also, right-click on audio events and select 'group < remove from group' to delete or move audio only.

Turning off the Rippling did the trick!

Thanks!
