trim adjustment for latency?

I'm kinda guessing that the amount of latency one
experiences with a particular piece of audio software
depends on what hardware is being used. If this is correct,
then the amount of latency with Vegas will vary with each
user. Would it be possible to incorporate a user-
adjustable "latency trim" feature to greatly reduce or
eliminate the problem?

HI! there is a way to adjust it very fine:
Options - Pref - Audio - advanced - record latency :
uncheck autodedct and then play a wave analog out of your system and
go directly back in your system analog and record it.
than check the difference of the time possition of the waves - that
is the rec.latency. adjust it like i suggested above.
I can say it worked.
hope that helps
