Subject:SF 9.0e bug: Extract Regions

Hi, Could someone test this to see if it's a bug or just me not getting it...

1. Create some regions and name then with long names (25+ characters)
2. Go to Extract Regions and select all.
3. Select the option "Use Long file names..."
4. Extract

Did the resulting files created retain the long file names that you had as the Regions names? For me the file names are limited to the first 23 characters, including spaces. I'm sure in earlier versions of SF (on XP Pro) the length of the regions and file names would be the same no matter how many characters.

Thanks!

Known issue. You could look for or create a script that does the same task as Extract Regions as a way around this if you need longer file names.

On my tests, the Extract Regions command should save up to 64 characters in the file name. Hope that helps.

Thanks! I hope this gets fixed soon. I'll look at Scripts but I've never created one so I hope it's not too involved.

There is already a script named "Save Regions as Files" that came with my SF9, but it exhibits the same problem. ......

I also just installed SF8.0d on my Vista computer to try that, and it does the same thing. But SF8.0d Extracts the regions perfectly on XP Pro (I don't have access to the XP Pro machine any longer). So I guess it's something with the combination of Vista and SF.....

I think I've tried all the work-arounds, but please, if anyone else can think of something else I can try let me know. Thanks!
