You need to also install DVDA to get the AC3 codec.

OK What is DVDA and how do you get it? If it is DVD Architect, then I have it but it does not cause Vegas to offer the AC3 Codec. And DVD Architect appears useless for burning blu-ray as the only time I've tried it, it wanted to recode to SD.

BTW, my PC is littered with AC3 codecs used by other applications ...

And anyway, Vegas should do what the help file says it does.

Neither am I very impressed with the help file.. e.g. try looking for 'ripple editting'. What is it?

DVDA isn't used to make a Blu-Ray. It's done right from the time line. Just click on [make movie], then pick [burn to DVD, Blu-Ray or CD].

Yes I have done exact;ly that and the only audio option offered is Sony wav64.

Sequence is:

Make movie->Burn to DVD, blu-ray or cd->Blue ray disc

So why no AC3 option in the audio format drop-down list?

I see what you mean. The only choice is Sony Wave 64 (.w64).

This is an error in the online help file, and I'll revise it immediately.

The AC-3 Studio plug-in that is included with Vegas Movie Studio Platinum does not render Blu-ray compliant audio streams, so the only option is to use PCM (Sony Wave64).

Thank you for bringing the error to our attention, and please accept my apologies for any confusion it may have caused.
