Glass Shatter transition

Nat wrote on 8/10/2008, 1:06 PM
Hello,

A couple years ago I remember using a glass shatter type transition. It divided the image in small triangles that would explode. I can't seem to find the plugin anymore. I don't remember if it was part of the pluginpac (I saw there was a shatter effect but I'm not sure it's this one)
Anyone knows where I could find this ?
Thanks.

I was able to install the pluginpac in an old copy of Vegas6 I had installed. I think it was that plugin, too bad it doesn't work in Vegas 8 :(

I have Vegas Pro 8.0b and the old Plugin Pac effects (Shatter3D, 3D LE and PixelStretch) work for me.

Here I get this error :
"Unable to find video event length. If you are running Vegas 4 and above, please check if you can run scripts because Wax needs that ability"

I have it as well... it works in 7 and 8 for me. In fact I use the 3D plugin to make 3D titles with the pro titler

If anybody needs it I would be glad to email it.

Grazie-pluginpac work perfect for me in V8P :)

"Wax needs that ability"

Wax doesn't work at all. It does nothing but bugger up your Vegas install.

Nat,

I don't think "Wax" will work in Vegas Pro 8. However, the older Plugin Pac does work. If you need a copy of it, I can email it to you.

"I don't think "Wax" will work in Vegas Pro 8. " - Ah! That's where I've been going wrong. I'll have a rummage. What is the ver. of PluginPac you are using Dan?

If you need something that's supported, Boris FX does this and a whole lot more.

Hi Grazie,

There's no version number but the "setup.exe" file is dated 3/19/2003. Do you want me to send the file to you?

I haven't used plugin pac for a long time, but don't you need to set RAM Preview to zero to make it work? That might be the problem.
Nat wrote on 8/10/2008, 5:17 PM
john:tried both setting ram preview at 0 and Enabling quantize to frame, it seems more like a scripting problem (seems like it relies on scripting to get the length of the event)

I just realized that I still have WAX installed. It took a few tries, because I always forget how to navigate its quirks, but in Vegas 7.0d, I got the shatter transition to work just fine.

In addition to setting RAM Preview to zero in Vegas, you may also need to set the preferences for WAX by running the "Wax 2.0 Preferences" utility outside of Vegas. Here are the settings I use which seem to work (checking the "Dummy Host Media" box seems to be the key thing):

I have a 3d veg file of glass pane breaking all done in mask I did a while back, pieces falling you just have to add your pic on level 2 multiply mask and add bump map to give it a 3d look

DJ Swipes #40 has some nice shattering glass transitions complete with sound.
