I have the Shuttle pro 2, and I cant figure out how I ever worked without it. I hardly ever touch the keyboard anymore, just mouse an shuttle. the best thing about the shuttle is that you can configure the 15 buttons to any command you want. I experimented with several different setups and now have it dialed in, and my productivity has doubled and my arm and hand stress has gone to nothing.

Get it and you will never regret it.

I vote the same as the above, money VERY well spent.

I do add my own feet to the units. I've found one of them didn't sit dead flat on the desk and the slight wobble was distracting and it slid around too easily. 4 stickon feet can be found in any hardware store. Get the softer really sticky ones.

Actually, 4 feet is not the ideal remedy for wobblies. Basic geometry states that 3 points define a plane. That's why tripods work so well.

I use the Contour ShuttlePro v2 on the left hand and a trackball and a tablet on the right hand and it works great. The ShuttlePro v2 is money well spent for use with Vegas.

I also use it in Cakewalk's SONAR 6 Producer's Edition but have found it less useful there for MIDI. Haven't tried it on audio yet in SONAR. I hope it's better.

The Shuttle Pro2 is well designed, well constructed, and superbly supported. It works well with virtually everything. All of the Sony pro series programs, MS Word, MS Excel, IE Explorer, etc. I love how it follows which program has "focus" and effortlessly adapts its responses to that particular program. Setting the 15 buttons to your personal preferences is easy. Nice piece of work.

Favorite button is the one which instantly zooms in on web pages to make my tired eyes perfectly happy.

Sure wish I knew were to pick up some replacement buttons. I've lost two of the clear caps. Contours web site has a page to order but I have never been able to get it to work.

I am curious about the tablet thing. I have noticed that other editors use one to, but how does it work? do you use it just like a mouse or does it function differently, I have wrist pain sometimes and I wonder if a tablet might reduce some of the pressure on the ol wrist.

Editguy: I am relatively new to the tablet - it's a wacom "bamboo fun" and it has added amazing flexibility to mask drawing and other functions . Here's the website: http://www.wacom.com/bambootablet/.
I got the 6" x 8" pad and it works great. It can be used across my two monitors or limited to just one. The pen that comes with it functions like a mouse, having two buttons near your thumb and on the pad itself are four programmable buttons and a navigation "disk" for scrolling. It's explained better on the wacom website. You can also tap the pen on the tablet to click like a mouse. The surface is tactile and feels like paper. I am very happy with this thing. I hope I explained it correctly. I use a trackball too (logitech trackman optical)which has eased my wrist stress as well but the tablet feels freer. For drawing it is amazingly better than any mouse or trackball.

When I moved I lost a couple of the buttons on my Contour Shuttle. I gave them a call. They're happy to send you what you need. They gave me what I needed for free, but sometimes they sell them in packs of ten. I was impressed by their desire to get me working full force again.
