I doing pre production preparation for a project where there is 40 hours of HDV .mts 1440x1080 material that I am going to edit into video for computer playback.
I need to transcode it for editing.
Uncompressed works fine but is big. Sony SUV works fine but is still big.
So cineform looks attractive but I cannot get anything that is acceptable. I have tried all kinds of permutations but I get something that looks like this

I am going to pick a 1040 x 768 framed portion of the 1440x1080 for the final output but at this point I just need to choose an intermediate format to get rid of the overhead of the mpeg4 codec.
ideas...
thanks in advance
