bit depth and sampling rate

This is listed in the product description for CD Architect 5.2:

Use the highest quality audio in your CD projects, up to 32-bit, 192kHz source audio - no conversion is necessary. Convert your tracks to Red Book audio with high-quality resampling and dithering with noise shaping.

My question is, how do you dither tracks (that were recorded at 24 bit and 96 kHZ) down to 16 bit and resample to 44.1 kHz before burning an audio disc? I know that you can use the Sony Dithering effect in the master bus to bring it down to 16 bit but how do you get the sample rate down to 44.1 kHz? Any documentation that I've found on this isn't very clear. Does it just happen transparently?

Thanks for any help!

Yes - you don't worry about the sample rate. CDA does that for you, and there is nothing to specify given that the target is always 16/44k1/s ..

Geoff,

By any chance do you have an opinion on the SRC within CDA compared to an SRC from other sources, such as Voxengo r8brainPro ?

Thanks,

Sorry no. Havne't done a comparison as I'e nevr felt CDA's native SRC to be flawed in any way that I've noticed. Might be worth a play sometime - SRC something in SF with SF native, an external SRC as you suggest, and compare with CDA's.

My projects usually come into CDA as 24/44k1, which is what I generally record at.....

Check out this link. SRC's from various software compared.
Very interesting...
