Upgrade to V8 Help!

I have a question,
I want to upgrade to V8 from V5. The question I have is i;m also planning on buying an High definition camera. To be able to capture with V8 do I need cineform or any other type of application to capture to SD for clients or HD DVD?

You have two options; a) Capture and edit as HDV and render to MPEG2 for DVD as SD. b) Most HDV cameras have the option to convert HD to SD on the fly during playback, so you could turn this feature on and capture and edit as SD just like you always have.

You might want to go with option A as then you would have your project in HD for the future when HD distribution becomes more mainstream.
