Still Images

Please forgive the ignorance in this question. I am about to order Vegas for current use with still images and in the future with video captures. Before I do, I wanted to make sure that I can import photos (jpegs) to create my DVDs. (Slide shows with text and audio.)

Surprisingly none of the information in the overview or descriptions specifically say still images. I realize there are less expensive products just for that process, however I want to use something I can grow into. I have been using Studio 11 but ready to move into the Sony world.

Still images... before I buy?
Thx

No problem. Vegas works well with most media.

. . . but with limitations. I work with a lot of stills, and like to zoom in on images that have lots of pixels. Recently I had a still of a 12"-ruler that I wanted to zoom into in order to show the size of 1/32", but even though my still was only 400+ pixels high, rendering would stop at that image. I found that the problem was with the 13,000+ pixel width of the image. By cutting it down to about 6000 pixels wide, all rendered well, but I couldn't zoom in quite as much. In general, I've had better luck with .PNGs rather than .JPGs when trying to incorporate huge images into my Vegas projects - large .JPGs really cause fits in Vegas, sometimes causing crashes even before rendering.
