Subject:Recording problem

I am using Soundforge 9 to record non stop continuose dj mixes. Most of my mixes are between an hour and 80 minutes. The problem I am having is that at certain points in the recording the software seems to spazz out out and go into what I can only describe as an audio seizure or some kind of wierd interferance for a couple of seconds. Needless to say this makes an otherwise flawless mix utterly useless.

The higher I set the latencey the less frequently it happens, but I now have the latency set as high as it can go and it still happens. Virus/pop up protection etc is turned off. It happens weather my wireless internet is on OR off. I usually am broadcasting my mixes live on the internet as I am recording so I can't keep the wireless off all the time but I have tested with it off and it makes no difference, it still happens.

Any ideas what icould be causing this or how to fix it? I am getting frusterated to the pount that I am considering getting rid of soundforge and looking for something else. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kj

With Media Center you may need to disable your video capture device. Go to hardware manager and find the Conexant driver
and select disable. Another thing that may help is to go to your
video card properties and set video acceleration to the minimum
value. Also you can do an internet search for DAW optimizations
for more ideas. Good Luck.

I concur with Mike, check out DAW optimizations.
Disable applications and un-needed utilities running in the background, such as screen savers, anti-virus, anti-spyware ect., ect.
