ProTitler dissapointment or am I missing something

The first thing that I tested was whether text was part of a tittling preset.
It still is!
The problem for me is that I will choose a style for text overlay. In a five minute project I might have 20 text overlays.
Then the client sees it and asks if the text could be blue, bigger, and with a grey shadow.
Sure, but as it sits, I have to go to every instance and change it or apply the preset and retype the text.
This is so dumb I must be missing something about presets.
Some alt paste or cntl shift paste would allow me to apply a title style and leave the text alone.
I was hoping that ProTitler would address this.
So far I haven't found it.

it only changes attributes if later copies if you copied by referencing the original media.

for what you want you have to do it manually. that's why most people charge clients extra if they keep changing little crap like that. work adds up fast (5 minutes + 5 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 5 = heck of a lot more then the initial 5!)

Yeah the ProTitler is really tedious to work with. The interface is also a little non-responsive at times, as in jerky. Maybe if they took away that stupid windows skin, and made it plain like the rest of Vegas, it may then work faster.

In Protitler, like you said, you can't change all text presets at the same time. You can't even change an effect easily. You have to drop a new effect on the window, and retype your text. What a pain!

This is a more profound dissapointment because I complained about this exact same thing on the original titler a couple of years
ago.
While ProTitler is significantly more capable in some respects, changing the look of it for my purposes is a bit like "dressing up a pig".
How much more powerful titling would be if presets could be separate from text.

that's actually no different then the old titler. you would need to change each pre-set one at a time. or photoshop, for that matter. you'd still need to manually change all the properties for everything you've typed in.

it's worth noting that you can change the xml files in a text editor, so i'm sure a script could be written to change/make a ton of presets at once.

I find I'm still using Heroglyph to do most of my titles. It's just faster.

I'm in the middle of a project with lots of Heroglyph titles and just updated to 8a yesterday. So far no problems. I do have the titles in a separate directory in my documents folder though. Maybe that helps.
