24p vs. 29.97fps

I know this has been discussed in the past, but I am looking for a new discussion of the differences (advantages / disadvantages) of 24p vs. 29.97fps. I'll be starting a new project soon and I am trying to decided which direction to go. It will be for a music video and will likely be most often viewed the internet, but will also be included on a media rich audio CD. I will be doing some testing over the next few weekends. I'll be shooting indoors on a Canon GL2 and, of course, I'll be editing in Vegas, likely version 7.0.

My gut says shoot 24p, but I have no imperical information to back that up. So throw your opinion into the pot! Please pretend I am an idiot when making your points so that I don't miss any important info - some of the discussion on this board whizzes right over my head, lol.

Thanks in advance!

David Jimerson hammered this out a while back. The facts are still the same and the discussion that followed was pretty good. He even had a video tutorial to go along with it. I would do a search for that and start there; like I said, the facts have not changed but I am sure opinions have. :)

Edit: A link

Thanks for the link - lots of good information there. So we don't re-hash the same discussion, let me just ask this - is there any reason (based on the above information about my shoot) NOT to shoot 24p?

Thanks!
