Hi

I just posted this to Sony support, but if anyone can help it would be much appreciated

I have several version of Sampletank installed. Originally Sampletank 2 was registered (Options / Preferences/VST Instrument Name) as "Sampletank2" It is now named "Sampletank2 1". I can no longer open some of my older projects which are looking for Sampletank2 without the " 1" on the end.

I also have Sampletank 2.5 installed which is named "Sampletank 2.x 1". FYI I dont have this problem with other hosts so there is something about ACID that appears to be different!

Have you tried what Reverse Engineer suggested over on the Sonic Reality forum?

You could also try re-scanning your vsts.

Sounds like they changed the internal name when they update the product.

ACID relys on the reported name of the plugin to locate it. Because vendors are not conistent with this, the end result is what you are seeing.

There is no work around for this problem.

We are looking at addressing this in a future version of ACID.

Peter

I'm concerned why its only ACID that seems to have this problem. The other products I use (Tracktion, FL Studio) register them without any additional characters being appended to the name.

Because we use the internal name to identify the plug ins. Other vendors use the name of the DLL.

Again, this will be address in a future version.
