Yes. There will be presets that will make it simpler than the current titler and it can be much more complex with single letters being keyframed and fx'ed.

Thanks, so like livetype on a mac or simpler ?
Someone with the initials DSE mentioned a small movie
of the titler........,.

dude... I so doubt it's like Livetype.
That's like going from a Bicycle to a Porsche.

It would definitely be welcome... but highly doubtful.

Take a look at the screenshot of ProType (middle of the page).
Definitely not the old Vegas titler :-)

Does it strike anyone else that the interface looks very different to the rest of the Vegas interface, almost FCP like? Could it be that this is from someone other than SCS?

Maybe, Farss, SMS license a version of LiveType ? or hired the company produced the orginal source of LiveType? There's three or four companies that could knock-out a titler in 4 -6 months that would be a killer product if the money was right.

3 or 4 ? hundred maybe... hope it helps those that want a all in one type deal... and those who may currently use third party stuff

SMS didn't license the titler from anyone. It's built from the ground up for Vegas.
Once I've received permission to post a short tutorial movie, I'll put it up. Hoping to have it by tomorrow...

I've been waiting for you......
Thanks for checking in
I'm really intrigued over this titling thing.
It's been basically the same since screenblast .

So we can take that to mean SCS didn't write it themselves?
Licencing someone else's product would have been perhaps better, it'd be some indication that the door had been opened for others to also offer integrated products.

Looking at the screen shot I'm liking the envelope generators that are available.

Any chance these will be available for all envelopes not just the Titler?
TheHappyFriar wrote on 9/1/2007, 11:28 PM
looks like you can also mute keyframe tracks. Nice. Hopefully that's in all keyframe tracks. :)

the titler does look different, but i'd say it's the actual ares with the text that's really "out there". the rest looks like a full-screen text window but more keyframe tracks with envelopes.

This won't kill old projects that use the old text generator, will it? We'll still be able to open up vegas 5/6/7 projects with no issues about text generators?

That titler looks very similar to the style of software made by NewBlue - hmmmmm. If I am correct, didn't he work for SMS??

Maybe developed by them for SMS. Either way, a more professional titler would be more than welcome

The subtitle stuff to import to DVD-A has me interested. But I wonder how many regions you would have to create for a one hour project.

Just FYI -- The company that developed the precursor to LiveType was actually bought by Apple in 2002... so not likely there's any connection to ProType.

JJK - Regions in Vegas to subtitles in DVDA is already possible - I've done a few such projects. Depending on whether you have to type the captions or paste from an existing document, it may be easier to import them from a text file straight into DVDA, then adjust the timing.

The number of captions/regions per hour will vary depending on the project, but could easily be 300 - 400

PeterWright:
Thanks. I did put into the Vegas suggestion box to use a voice recognition software to put the text on another track (subtitle text track) in Vegas and then you can correct the mistakes and not have any timing issues. I just keep getting lazier and lazier.

Vegas whiz Mike Jones had this to say about the new titler on his blog:

"With ProType as much a comprehensive animation system as a titler, with individual control over each character, word and line, parent/child relationships, cascading keyframes, bezier curves, paths and generators; it moves out of the usually confined parameters in which NLEs operate. ProType in Vegas is now arguably the most sophisticated titling tool in any current NLE - and I've used and reviewed every NLE on the market."

C'mon Spot. We want to see that demo :-)

(quote)so too might the same argument be made that a tool like ProType, which in truth gives After Effects a run for its money as a titling system(end quote)

wow

must see demo.........:-)

I am very happy that after years of begging the team has revamped the titler.

Any chance the Vegas 2.0 credit roll generator has also finally been revamped and they just simply forgot to mention it on the ad page?

Yeah, I'm hoping the roll generator is updated too. For me that's more important than the other aspects of a titler.
