Sort of - you need a VST - DirectX wrapper/adaptor. This will let you use VSTi's in a directx client such as architect. I say sort of, as trying it with a free wrapper lets me use Ozone quite happily, but the mastering bundle is coming as an invalid vst file. BUt perhaps a better wrapper would work. The cakewalk one seems quite popular.

is the one I tested.

The Izotope bundle is restricted to SF9 at present. Other SCS apps need updates to be able to access.

Aren't they DX, not VST ?

For SCS statement see : [/link=http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=520886]

They work in Vegas 7 for me. As for DX/VST I was basing them around Ozone, so they could indeed be DX.

Still, at least the wrapper does open up the VST aspect to you, if you want it.

Thanks for the replys.

I have the Cakewalk VST/DX wrapper, but uninstalled it when Sonar and SoundForge went VST native I'll whack it back on and see if it works for Izotope and CDA5.2.

I personally don't use Sound Forge as a "mastering app" and frankly don't know anyone else who does either – I think mastering is a primary function of CDA with SF being the tool for surgical editing and other destrutive tweaks within the mastering process. The Izotope plugs not being available in CDA is simply rediculous, and to me is just another illustration of how out of touch SMS seems to be with their user base. I've used Vegas, SF, Acid, CDA for many years and they are basically the only programs I use on a regular basis. However, over the past 3 years or so, I've grown accustomed to the idea that I will most likely be in a perrpetual state of "waiting for the next release" forever hoping to finally get a group of apps that work in the integrative manner that they are touted to be. I just mastered 2 projects and would have loved to try out the Izotope plugs with these but I guess I'll need to wait till the next release for that.

I second, third, and fourth that CDA is (or should be) the place for mastering. However I disagree that nobody does 'mastering' on SF, despite the difficulties, which can be worked around.

HOWEVER we urgently need, and have done for YEARS:
1 - Plugin switching off, so that plugins on each media event are not concurrently running 100% of the time, making realtime preview near impossible with power-hungry plugins.

2 - Plugin automation

3 - VST

4 - More sophisticated metering.

With these additions, CDA would be PERFECT.

Oh yeah, and #5 - bundled Ozone functionality, of course.

Sony aren't totally deaf to our wishes. After all, we got CD-TEXT, albeit after about 3 years of pleading....

By coincidence, I still have SONAR 2 installed. So the Izotope plugs work fine in CDA. I love that limiter.

The Izotope plugs are now available to CDA.

I just downloaded and installed the updates to both CDA (5.2C build 214) and SF (9.0b build 397) and the plugs show up in CDA as
"Mastering EQ", "Mastering Limiter", "Mastering Reverb", and "Multiband Compressor".

Thank you.
