Subject:Mix/Replace still seems to have a bug in 9b.

I'm trying to paste a small selection from anywhere in the middle of a source file to the middle of a destination file. The preview correctly plays the selected portion of the source file. However, when I hit "OK," Sound Forge drops in the very beginning of the source file instead. I've tried several different files and have played with the settings to see if I'm missing something. This is clearly not the classic behavior of SF7.

On a positive note, thanks Sony for putting back the memory function. To have Mix/Replace remember the settings I used in the previous edit is a real help, which I appreciate.

Doesn't do this for me - drops it at the cursor or highlighted area.

I repro. This one is entirely my fault. Sorry.

This is critical and we will be addressing it immediately. Expect a new build very soon, probably early next week.

In the meantime, if you use the clipboard instead of drag, it will work as expected.

J.

P.S. Geoff, yes, the destination position is correct, but the source material is wrong (on drags).

Does this bug also affect Repair/Replace? SF9.0b hangs when I try to use this. Worked OK in 9.0a.

I'm afraid I don't see anything like this. I do see a couple cases where it may be a little slower than it should be (which I'll fix), but it doesn't hang.

Can you specify file type, selection, channels, etc. Is it repeatable?

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I wasn't clearer.

I'm using standard WAV files. If I choose both channels all is well. Instantaneous as usual.

But if i choose a very small part of either channel, clicking on Tools/Repair/Replace I get a box in the bottom left of the screen which says "Replace ...0%" - and then nothing happens. The program just hangs. Happens every time.

So both channels OK - one of the channels (either one) a big problem.

Hope you can fix this! Thanks.

John

This is now fixed in 9.0c - thanks very much.

John.
