virtual video

I don't know what to call it.
A friend wants to setup a web site that shows locations such as motels, as if one were virtually in the room. When you direct the screen to the left you see the other side of the room. If you direct to the right you might see a window overlooking a pool.
Question: After taking pictures or video of the rooms, what software would I use to setup such a task?

Quicktime made something. Not sure of the name but it was like virtual 360 or something. You could rotate, zoom, pan, etc. It also support weblinks. It all ran in a quicktime plugin for the browser.

I know that several local real estate agents in my area are offering virtual tours with such software. I can't recommend one over the other, but here's an example.

It's called a virtual tour. Several companies with hired shooters already have this set up for ridiculous prices starting around $100. The shooter typically gets $25 and has to pay his/her own gas.
