I believe that to capture in Vegas your device needs to be firewire, not USB.

hi rebel44,
Vegas capture program doesn't support mpeg recordings, only DV and AVI signal.

my first capture card was an external adaptec 2200 with USB2 connection. tha card makes a hardware conversion of my analog video or tv input signal into mpeg2. the downer was that it lost sound sync after 15min.
so I ended up with a Nvidia fx5200 graphic card with video in&out. I now capture my movies with MyDVD software and import those mpeg2's into Vegas for editing prior to DVD burning. Winfast capture & editing software came with my fx5200 card from Leadtek, but the mpeg2 quality was inferior to MyDVD at the time of my testings.

I'm having the same problem. I have Vegas 4 and my video capture program stopped working so I bought the Adaptec AVC-2210 USB. I didn't know Vegas wouldn't work with it.

What's the best and cost effective way to be able to video capture and still use Vegas? I use an old Sony camcorder with a RCA jack output.

thx
