Ray, I live in Seattle and I think I'll take my wife on a date to see it. I assume it was done in Vegas. It will be nice to show her what my favorite software can do.
Carson
cheroxy, that would be friggin AWESOME! And but of course it was entirely done in Vegas, filmed on an XL2. It's gotten a couple write ups and great reviews so far and won "Best Picture" in its first little fest so with any luck you and yours will dig it!
I just looked at the cinema's page and apparently there are two screenings on April 26th. Here's the link:
After seeing your clip a while back about your character wanting to be a movie maker I can't pass up this opportunity. After I see it I'll let you know how packed the room was...can't wait to see if you won her back :)
There is a Seattle Sony Vegas Users group planning meet tonight, April 19th at 7pm, 1401 Madison Ave. by Swedish Med Center (corner of Madison and Broadway) - park under the building or in the street to the west of the building - should be free after 6pm.
It would be great if you mapquested us out and informally meet the gang. It's a small space tonight, but it should lead to new possiblities for Vegas Users in the Seattle area.
Maybe we could arrange for a Sony Vegas block to catch your Seattle premiere on April 26th, then a followup meet to find out how you pulled it off.
Thats great cheroxy! Can't wait to get the inside scoop and hear whatcha think of my lil opus!
wethree, if you guys make it that would be incredible! I personally was blown away at how good something that I had been fiddling with on my computer looked on a big screen. And I suspect it will look even better there as they are running it straight off of a hard drive.
I was in Seattle not too long ago, In-law family out there. I would totally come to see your film if I was there, unfortunately I am not. I wish you all the luck bro.
It was great! You gave it the perfect dosage of mistakes, emotion, etc to have me pulling for ya'. I don't want to give away the ending.
There was a little 5 min intermission. There were about 15 people there (small college theater) and everybody was talking with everybody. My wife and I couldn't stop talking about it all the way to pick up the kids and from there all the way home.
I remember someone posting a clip a couple of years ago that was something they made for their girlfriend and they lived in Texas. That must have been you. Is she your girlfriend?
As a Vegas hobbyist I would love to know:
what did you have to do to get your video to play in Seattle?
where can you take it from here?
what gave you the initial idea?
how long did it take to do the entire project?
Again, we enjoyed it a lot, as did everyone in the theater. Great Job Ray!
So got it up there by entering the Seattle True Independent Film Festival which is next month, will be coming up for that. They just happen to do a screening night and wanted to screen it before the fest. As for where I can take it, lol, wish I knew. Right now just entering fests and have a guy acting as a "producers rep" trying to hock it. The concept was initially just from sitting at home watching TV and whatnot and thinking "What could I film right now? What could I do in my garage?" (which is where all my monologues took place) From the day I had the idea till when it was shot, done, and edited, was 6 months.
