Can Vegas do normal pitching?

Can Vegas do normal pitching as in just moving a non-looped peice of audio, up and down and the resulting audio getting longer and shorter (like Acid can without the time-stretching?)

Every time i find the shortcut for pitching CTRL+= etc it seems to turn on the "classic" time-stretch " algorithm on in the properties and the audio pitches up/down but gets warbled?!

I just want the standard pitching where if it goes up = it gets shorter and longer = goes down

Is this possible in Vegas?

Yes.

Right click on the audio event and choose properties.

choose "classic time stretch" from the drop down box

Tick the "lock to stretch" box.

Well i dont really want to time-stretch it at all cus it gets all garbled?

I just want to pitch up and down, like you can in Acid with any audio file (and this is not time-stretched or acidized)

What I should add i suppose is :

I mean pitching +1, +2, +3 etc with shortcut keys as Acid does with the +/- keys, so when you have pad or music under a movie you can quickly hit these and pitch it in "key" with other music..

Right, well to quote your first post

"I just want the standard pitching where if it goes up = it gets shorter and longer = goes down"

which is what is described.

BUT

If you just want to change pitch select the event and use the - and + keys (below the F-keys, NOT the on number pad).

holding down CTRL allows fine adjustment. HOWEVER, your first post also seems to indicate that you already use these shortcuts. If the audio sounds garbled, that's just the quality of the algorithm rearing it's ugly head. Not everything will pitch shift pleasantly.
