Grouping anomoly

I have a clip that is about 7 minutes long, with lots of edits that were made using Vegas 7 and I found at the end of the editing effort when I wanted to add a fade in and slightly adjust a couple of previous edits, entire sections of the serveral pieces are grouped that were not previously grouped. Worse yet, there is no way to ungroup them!! Clicking on the edited pieces individually that are grouped, show no grouping options or allows for "removal from" leaving me no way to make changes to the entire effort. What has happened and how can I fix this?

Please provide input as I am working under some tight time frames and need to correct without scrapping everything I have done. If I am unaware of what is causing this, it is likely to happen again., andI just cannot afford the down-time.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have RIPPLE enabled?

Check, Ignore Event Grouping under the ripple edit that DaveT2 mentioned.

Edit: spelling.
