None spoken of in the forums. Import capability is really enough probably for vegas use. omf import export would really be the format you're asking for. but now that vegas has multiple track export capability. neither really matters anyway. You can always do straight timeline exports and import from 00:00:00 anyway.

Alternately, you can always export to mxf or aaf format anyway and not be concerned. or to edl legacy and import to most other platforms

are you saying aaf has some sort of timestamp?

No, but within vegas., yes IF-- you can get it to work, The timeline EDL will be transfrered,.. ALL files must be in the same folder, Even then one must usually re-wrie the root code.
IF... you can get it into Vegas. . that's IT. Bassically once in Vegas, Your f---ed.. without an exterenal app, like EDL convert.
SMS does not want you to play with other app.s,. PTs Sonar, FCP ect.

I need a timestamp. For export and import to and from other programs. These workarounds aren't working.

does anything besides bwf have a timestamp?

Its not the news you want to hear but you can get AV Transfer for about a grand (or a free demo) that is supposed to be able to read vegas project files and translate the edl to just about anything else.

The list of needed audio fixes (in vegas) is growing rather large, in fact there seem to be more audio problems with each release.

Cui Bono-Soft EDL convert works really well with Vegas text and XML EDL files. It also supports BWF but it's funtionallity with TC is unknown to me. Much cheaper than AV Transfer. (which I tried and was not impressed)

Vegas BWF export? Don't hold your breath, think it's clear which direction SMS is headed with the release of American Idol Extreme Music Creator, what a f---ing joke. I am now REALLY embarrased to even mention to anyone in A/V that I use Vegas. I can imagine what's down the road for Sound Forge, all pro funtions ellminated and turned into an MP3 organizer for kids. (ages 6-12)

Any suggestions, Sonar, Slow Tools, Nuendo?

Reaper. I believe it already has the BWF capability you speak of. The project file format is cleartext and open, so its easy to write converters. I wrote a Roland VS-1680 project importer for it in about a day. The developer is also very responsive to all reasonable requests. I'm thinking of writing a VEG file importer if I feel motivated enough to map out the file format.

Cheers,

I need to get jam Vegas to a slate and export BWF so I can give it to film editors. I've looked at programs like MetaCorder and Boom Recorder, but they are Mac only. Anyone have any ideas of PC programs that can export timecode stamped files so that movie editors can use them? I would think that Vegas could do that, but sadly it doesn't seem like it can... (maybe I'm wrong and someone could tell me how..?)

Yeah cchoy my delema also.
I exchange OMFs with editors but that's w/o absolute TC too.
I don't know where to turn either. I havn't used Slow Tools in 8 yr.s.

I'm told V7 will export BWF with TC.
Haven't tried myself as yet.

Vegas 7 doesn't export BWFat all. Anyone else have any good solutions?
