Did you pay for a version 7 license? Upgrades aren't free.

Click on Software/Vegas up at the top of the page for more information.

No. I didn't even know there was a version 7 until yesterday. I can say that I have had no problems with v6.0d. Is v7 a "critical" upgrade? I've got no complaints! thanks dv

Not critical at all for an audio-only user. Couple of feature that may be of use to you, but 95% the same as 6 (for audio)

I did the upgrade primarily to get DVD-A and surround sound capability for the limited $150 special price which I consider a very good deal. I probably would not have purchased it at the normal upgrade pricing though.

I'd like to say that I also upgraded, straight to version 7 from version 5. I still like editing audio in Vegas, and occasionally use it for video bits and pieces.

Was suprised that there was no cross-grade offer to Acid 6 for disgruntled Vegas users. Given that we never really get told what direction Vegas is going in (or any sony app for that matter) it seems only right that when the hardcore audio user finally realises they've essentially bought into a dead-end product they could be given an oppertunity to side-step for a reduced fee - say, the upgrade price that existing Acid users would get. (by the way, I also own Acid... Version 4 I think. Ver6 not complete enough for me yet in terms of porting Vegas features over to it).
