Vegas 6-Realtek 5.1 Problem

I have an Intel/ RealTek High Definition audio card for 5.1 surround sound, but the Vegas 6 software and ACID do not seem to see it or support it.

Probably you do not have appropriate drivers selected.

I'm pretty sure that only the DirectSound drivers for the Realtek chipsets will allow you to use all 6 channels, so make sure you try all the available driver types, including DirectSound.

If that doesn't work you may find that using ASIO4ALL to synthesise an ASIO driver for the Realtek chipset may work.

But you might be better off getting a soundcard with better driver support.

My Realtek 5.1 shows up with both the Abit drivers and ASIO-4-All drivers in both Acid and Vegas "5" though I seldom use it for anything but system sounds and down & dirty quick work playback. For real audio I use my Delta.
