Have you got some open-to-close hihat and "pre-kick" samples recorded?
i don't use drumagog, i build the drum lines (or edit the recorded ones) in Vegas.
I would use those samples too.

btw, i totally agree with your "philosophy" you attached.

heh the philosophy has been somewhat modded over the years. Used to have a GIANT checklist, but as we progressed to vegas 2 then 3 then 4 they mostly went away

I dont have many hi hat sounds split up. I did record some, but I never got around to dicing em. Ill go look
