Notch the feedback freq with as narrow eq as possible and use automation to pull it out only at the offending moments. Be aware that you may have to subtly and slowly transition to whatever amount of cut you deem as acceptable and the same goes for restoring the cut freq so as not to create a worse glitch than what is present.

Feedback, unfortunately, usually has strong overtone resonances.
In addition to the excellent advice above, look in your spectrum analysis for peaks at the multiples of the feedback fundamental, and notch out accordingly.
