Welcome to the scripting forum for Sound Forge! Bookmark this link as your go-to place for scripting information. The value of the forum will grow as you contribute.

Scripts are a powerful way to extend and enhance Sound Forge.
But, with great power comes great responsibility, so please read the following:

Scripts can pose a security risk to your computer. A script has the power to delete files, read files, write files, execute programs, access the Internet, access files on your network, and so on. Always examine the contents of a script before running it. If you don't understand the script, do not run it unless it comes from a trusted source. In general, take the same precautions you would take for any program you download from the Internet or receive in an e-mail attachment.

Hello

Thanks for the warning. i don't know much about scripts.
Can you tell me if the scripts downloaded from ww.vasst.com are safe
Is there someone who checks them or it only depends of whom uploads them?

Thanks
Didier

As far as I know, all scripts on the VASST site are safe. However, I don't know of any written for SF8 on the VASST site at this time. I currenly have three for SF8 which you can find scattered through the various posts below. I'll also add a SF8 scripting section to www.jetdv.com soon and will list my scripts there.

For the record: there are two kinds of scripts on the VASST site. Those which are offered by VASST either for sale or for free and branded as VASST Software or VASST Freeware respectively; and those which are in the user contribution section under free resources and are uploaded by end users.

The VASST Software and VASST Freeware scripts are safe. We write them so we know they are safe. (BTW, our freeware comes with the same level of customer support as our full software offerings.) While the user contributed scripts are reviewed before we allow them to become available to the public, we cannot guarantee that they will not harm your computer. They are to be used at your own risk.
