Background Image Oddity

I've created a PNG background image; 720 x 480; 300 DPI; Stretched to Fit in DVDA 3.0
It's a light gray background with a thin red border (box). All sides of the border are in the title safe area, and show up on the TV screen. Everything looks fine in DVDA, and the image also looks fine when I play the finished DVD on my computer. But on my TV, the vertical lines on the sides of the box are warped/twisted from top to bottom.
I've tried various original image sizes (640 x 480 , etc.); all in conjunction with the three options in DVDA, but I'm getting the same result over and over.

I suspect that the problem is with the TV, but it's only a few months old. : (

Am I missing something here? Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm not sure of the terminology or the exact cause and effect but I've seen what you describe. I have been told it is because of lighter colors causing extra stress on the TV power supply that is likely going bad. Just for grins, try it with a darker background and you'll likely see the lines warp less. Or, it could be related to the pincushion on a computer monitor.

I bet it will be different (if any distortion at all) on another TV.

FWIW.
