Vegas 6c - PTT still not working

Aje wrote on 10/4/2005, 8:35 AM
Installed VV6c today but my camcorder is still not detected in the print to tape window !
I really thought that Sony had done something to this basic failure this time !
Before I used VV4 to PTT but after a virusscan with a newly installed
virus and firewall program "Zone Alarm Security Suite" vV4 refuses to start so now I´m really frustrated.
I have tried to reinstall VV4 but no change.
Why can´t VV6 detect my cam and PTT as VV4 did?
I´m using PAL.
With hope of help /Aje

Can you load up Vegas 4.0 if you shut down ZoneAlarm? You may have to add that program to ZA's allowed list.

you have Vegas 6c loaded? There were some implemenations to fix connectivity with older camcorders.

thanks for answer
No I can´t start vegas 4 after having shut down Zone Alarm.
I have a 1/2 year old Panasonic GS400 and it don´t show up in VV6C PTT.

OK
Now i can print to tape with crash recording in VV6c but why - can Sony tell me why is the Autoedit possibility greyed out though I can see the tape location figures for start and end of print in it???
There must be some sort of communication between my camcorder
and VV6c´s PTT window
I would like an answer from Sony!

I suspect this isn't a Vegas thing. V6.0c will capture from my DSR-11 on my Win2K system but it's a real crap shoot on the WinXP system.
Are you running XP and if so does Windoz make a sound when you plug in the camera?

I just tried it with a PD170 and it hangs within 2 seconds of starting.
Is yours buffering any amount of data?

Disconnecting the firewire cable clears the hang and it gives the
double ding sound. If I have time I will look into it deeper.
