As the co-author of the book, I can't comment on the "goodness" or lack thereof to the book, but what I can say, is that the book is relevant to all versions of Vegas. Sony released a new version of their software approximately 90 days after the book was published. They added keyframing, external monitoring, and Direct X plugs. Two of those three subjects have already been added to the web address found in the book. The downloadable projects referenced in the book are usable in all versions of Vegas/Vegas Movie Studio, all techniques presented in the book are applicable to all versions Vegas Movie Studio and ACID Studio.

I did have to chuckle a bit at the one review, the person said he'd gotten a "little information" out of the book but it wasn't worth the price. I don't know how much information 16.00 is supposed to buy these days.
The book does contain some "hidden" techniques that you won't find in any owners manual or on-line, to the best of my knowledge.

I don't know if this helps or not. :-)

Thanks for the candid reply. The book has been on my Wish List for some time. Now that I'm about to take the plunge with VMS+DVD, I'll buy the book. The web updates/downloads are a nice touch. Are the video tutorials you offered in my other thread among the updates on your web site?
