Subject:MPEG-2 to Vegas Video

I have a new Sony Digicam. I want to create an edited movie. I copied the digicam files to my pc to get mpeg-2. I then tried to copy these to Vegas Video and lost the sound. Calling tech support they said I needed to render the MPEG-2 to a separate sound file. Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks,

David

the audio is in ac3 format - you have to use a program like dvdd2avi or besweet or #1 DVD Audio Ripper or any number of other products to convert the ac3 to wav files ..

this topic has been covered many times in the vegas forum for more info ..

My advice is sell or throw the the sony camera away....it is about as compatible as I am with my wife.
